Biography

Lisa Carter-McPhee began her career in the beauty industry while in college where she operated a salon out of her dorm room doing hair and nails for fellow students and faculty. She began her studies in cosmetology at Burdick in Washington, DC and worked in the salon as a manicurist and assistant to the owner of Arlene's Unisex Salon. Although she left the salon after a couple of years, her love for the beauty industry was on going. She started doing makeup for friends and family which lead her to study Makeup Artistry at Bennett Career Institute in Washington, DC. Upon completion of the certification class, she obtained advanced training in various areas of makeup artistry including HD and Airbrush Makeup. She has been afforded the opportunity to train with such industry greats as the Emmy award winning makeup artist Suzanne Patterson. Along with Ms. Patterson, Lisa has studied under Valente Frazier, Danessa Myrics the Beauty Editor for Hype Hair Magazine, Deshawn Hatcher, James Vincent of the Powder Group, Sam Fine and Billy B.

Lisa has been published in Global Woman Magazine, Hairstyles Unlimited and Sophisticate's Black Hair Magazine. Additionally, she participated in the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week NY, DC Fashion Week and America's Fashion Week.
